NASA scientists puzzling over the strange disappearance of dozens of Mars probes have concluded that the missing spacecraft have been hijacked by intelligent aliens, say insiders.
Since the first Mariner missions to the Red Planet in the 1960s, interplanetary probes have experienced strange mechnical failures or simply vanished without a trace.
In March 1989, the Russian Phobos II probe suddenly shut down while surveying the surface of Mars. The last thing its camera recorded was a huge, cigar-shaped shadow on the planet's surface, as if a giant vehicle had just appeared in the Martian sky.
In August 1993, America's Mars Observer probe also spontaneously shut down while mapping the Red Planet.
"Radio telemetry records from NASA and the Soviet space agency show a brief burst of radiation before every disappearance or malfunction," explains digital analyst Mark Crosby, an independent contractor from Houston, Texas.
"To past engineers, these bursts would have seemed like background noise or power surges."
"But analyzing the old recording swith modern equipment reveals the burst are actually rapidly pulsed electronic signals - exactly the kind of coherent signal that indicates intelligent life."

OTTAWA -- Prime Minister Stephen Harper's move to prorogue Parliament until March won't stop a public investigation into Canada's treatment of Afghan detainees, opposition MPs vowed yesterday.
The NDP and the Liberals said they may well hold informal, public hearings in the new year on Afghanistan, with or without government participation.
"It's a real option," said New Democrat foreign affairs critic Paul Dewar.
Harper spokesman Dimitri Soudas told reporters yesterday the prime minister will delay the return of Parliament until March 3 and unveil a budget the following day. Parliament was originally supposed to return Jan. 25.
Delaying Parliament in this fashion is called prorogation, and requires the consent of the governor general, who normally follows the prime minister's wishes.
It is also usually done at the end of a legislative session. Constitutional expert Peter Russell called Harper's decision to request it in this case "extraordinary" because the government still has an active agenda, notably in the area of fighting crime.

The idea that Earth has been visited by aliens at some point in the distant past is not a new one. In Sumer, the alien Gods were known as the Anunnaki. In Greece, the Annodoti. In the Celtic lore, the Tuatha de Danaan. In the Semetic scriptures (Torah, Talmud, Old Testament, and other Apocryphal texts like the Book of Enoch), they are called The Nephilim, The Sons of God, or The Watchers.
The gods themselves had their own monarchy, with laws of succession similar to our own, and they built a global empire upon the Earth, with great cities, temples and monuments, and mighty nations established on several continents. They created mankind as a slave race to work on their farms and in their gold mines, among other things. The Sumerian legends are very clear: man was made to bear the yoke of the gods. Man was separate from the gods, like a domesticated animal, and there was a great cultural taboo amongst the gods against sharing any of their sacred information with humanity, even things such as writing and mathematics. These gods ruled directly over Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Indus Valley, and their rule is recorded in the histories of all three civilizations.

Alex Jones is a Jesuit Coadjutor. He preaches FEAR to keep the people clamoring to Roman churches and even their politicians for help. He also preaches the government is very evil to give people a false sense of security thinking "someone" is out there fighting for them. Big government can be evil, yes, however he is working hand in hand with the govt to "expose" them so the people will eventually say "Enough! We want RELIGIOUS politicians!" This is the only way they will be able to move the people into accepting the "so called" religious leaders.

TopNews: Here’s a shocker: Young kids who are smacked by their parents grow up to be more successful than children who’re never spanked at all, claims a new study.
Lead researcher Marjorie Gunnoe, professor of psychology at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, said: “I think of spanking as a dangerous tool, but there are times when there is a job big enough for a dangerous tool. You just don’t use it for all your jobs.”
In the study, researchers found that children smacked up to the age of six were likely as teenagers to perform better at school and were more likely to carry out volunteer work and to want to go to university than their peers who had never been physically disciplined, reports The Times.
Only those children who continued to be smacked into adolescence showed clear behavioural problems, the study claimed.
The study was based on 2,600 people, of whom about a quarter had never been physically chastised.
Welcoming Gunnoe’s findings, Aric Sigman, a psychologist and author of The Spoilt Generation: Why Restoring Authority will Make our Children and Society Happier, said: “The idea that smacking and violence are on a continuum is a bizarre and fetishised view of what punishment or smacking is for most parents.
“If it’s done judiciously by a parent who is normally affectionate and sensitive to their child, our society should not be up in arms about that. Parents should be trusted to distinguish this from a punch in the face.”

Right on Huston Texes ,Canada is proud of you ,
The Texas city has just become the largest city in the United States to elect an openly gay mayor!
City Controller Annise Parker was elected by the people of Houston, even after conservatives and homophobic activists within the city set out on a smear campaign against Parker, mailing out flyers to voters, "condemning Parker's homosexual behavior."
Parker defeated her opponent, conservative Gene Locke, with over 53% of the votes!
"This election has changed the world for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community. Just as it is about transforming the lives of all Houstonians for the better, and that's what my administration will be about," said Mayor Parker after her win.

So what would the Amero mean for the US And Canadian economy? These are a few of the positive and negative effects that could stem from the adoption of a North American currency
Save on currency transactions: Dr. Herbert Grubel estimates that Canada alone would save $3 billion from the Amero’s implementation.
Printing inflation would be more difficult: There is large criticism of the Federal Reserve’s practice of printing dollars to pay debts and obligations, which causes the dollar to lose value. With a monetary union, the US would, one assumes, be held accountable by Mexico and Canada, and less free to continue this sort of practice.
Transition risks: The worldwide transition from the dollar to Amero could risk the dollar/Amero’s status as a global currency, which may cause foreign investors to shift to the more established euro and yen.
Same problems: The amero largely does not address problems that currently exist with the dollar, like trade deficits, government debt, and status as a fiat currency.
Shared seignorage: The US currently collects net revenue from issuing the dollar, but with the Amero, any revenues would likely be shared with Canada and Mexico.
Dollar fall: The Canadian and US dollars are worth considerably more than Mexico’s troubled peso. A merging of the three currencies could result in a fall of both dollars to meet the peso. Your thoughts email SersonReport@hotmail.com

Italian PM Berlusconi Suffers Broken Nose, Split Lip In Attack By Man With Statue
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, 73, had his nose broken, lip split and two teeth cracked when a man attacked him by throwing a statue at him following a rally in Milan Sunday.
Televised reports showed Berlusconi, with a bloody face, attempting to reassure supporter that he was all right. Aides were finally able to put him into a car and drive him to a hospital where he was admitted for treatment.
The alleged attacker, Massimo Tartaglia, 42, reportedly used a metal souvenir statue of the city's cathedral in the attack. According to reports, Tartaglia, who was taken into police custody, had a history of mental illness but no record of prior arrests.
Conservative Berlusconi has had a rough year, but he has remained popular with Italian voters maintaining an approval rate above 50 percent.
The three-term PM is facing charges of tax evasion, which he denies and calls politically motivated. In May, his wife of 19 years filed for divorce after publicity over a businessman hiring escorts for Berlusconi and reports that he attended a birthday party for an 18-year-old woman - with whom he has denied having an inappropriate relationship.

John Was Right: Beatles Top Jesus (Sort Of)
The Beatles It's taken four decades, but Google says John Lennon was right: The Beatles really are bigger than Jesus -- at least when it comes to search terms.
Christians held protests and burned the band's records when Lennon made the controversial pronouncement in 1966. But today, Google says all the attention on the new videogame and remastered CDs has pushed the word "Beatles" past "Jesus" in search terms over the last four weeks, according to London's Telegraph newspaper.
Christians nut job's take heart -- the Beatles spike appears to be subsiding, and Jesus is on track to regaining his search-term lead.

Sickest man in Hollywood just after Woody Allen
Roman Polanski's lawyers are arguing with California prosecutors for the dismissal of the director's guilty plea for raping an underage girl from 1977 saying it was judicial misconduct.
Prosecutors are saying that Polanski should go to Los Angeles to face his sentencing first. Polanski could face up to two years in prison!
The appeals panel should rule within 90 days and they have the options of asking a lower court to consider dismissing the case or not doing anything.
Polanski's lawyers want them to order a new hearing regarding the allegations of "backroom manipulations" by the judge back in '77.
LA prosecutor Phyllis Asayama said that before anything of the sort can be considered, Polanski must come to Los Angeles.
We agree!
He should stop being a coward and let the case be finished properly and fairly once and for all!

Old Faithful Global Warming Effects
Old faithful, the most famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park, got its name because of its predictable eruptions. But global warming is causing such persistent drought conditions in the West that experts predict the tourist attraction could soon stop gushing forever.
Researchers for the U.S. Geological Survey say dry spells, variations in underground temperatures and lack of water caused longer and longer intervals between geyser eruptions. And climate change is the catalyst for all these trends.
"Long-term climate change looks like it can have a big effect on geysers," says Ken Verosub, a geophysicist at the University of California, Davis. "This could be bad news for tourism."

Child Abuse 2.0
A Georgia grand jury has charged a mother with torturing her 13 year old son. Damita Devonna Peak, the victim's mother, as slapped with an assortment of charges including aggravated assault, five counts of first-degree child cruelty and four counts of false imprisonment. What did they do? They shot the kid in his body with a pellet gun. They shot him everywhere, even his genitals. They also handcuffed him in the closet naked and made him use a pail as a toilet. The boy was lucky that his 6 year old brother went to school and told on the mom and his stepfather. They really didn't give a good reason for doing these horrific things. Like the boy once ate a can of corn and they punished him.

Canada not a military miser: Study Finds Canada can kick your butt
A new study puts Canada near the top of the pack on defence spending, dispelling a long-held belief we're a "military miser."
The report released yesterday by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives shows Canada is among the top 15 military spenders in the world, and the sixth biggest spender among the 28 NATO allies. Latest budget estimates show Canada is spending $21.2 billion in the 2009-2010 fiscal year -- nearly 10% more than the year before.
Bill Robinson, a defence analyst with the Rideau Institute, said the government is throwing money at the military at the expense of other important issues like the environment. And he sees little to show for our investment in terms of enhanced global security.
"This myth we have about ourselves as insignificant military spenders is wrong," he said.
Dan Dugas, a spokesman for Defence Minister Peter MacKay, said the military is grateful and more efficient with more stable, increased funding.
"It's the hallmark of the Canada First Defence Strategy that this government is giving the military reliable projections of spending after years of neglect by the previous government," he said.
The report shows the U. S. was the biggest military spender at about $607 billion, with China ($85 billion), France ($66 billion) and the U. K. ($65 billion) also ranking high.

Why God can't save us
One of the earliest convicts in the Anamosa Penitentiary has buried yesterday in the prison cemetery. Charles Halchrist was his name, and he was sent from Grundy County to the prison December 27, 1929, for murder in the first degree, for life, so he had served 81 years, 11 months, and 10 days. He was a very devout Christian while in prison, and it is thought he was smitten with a stroke of paralysis while on his knees in prayer while in his cell, as he was found in that attitude. His crime was an exceptionally heinous one. He was a farmer and had a boy employed as a hired man. The boy’s wages were allowed to accumulate until several months’ pay was due him, when Halchrist paid him all up. The next day they were riding along in a wagon when Halchrist pounded out the boy’s brains with a hammer for the purpose of getting back the wages he had just paid him, and which amounted to but a few dollars.

Former Quebec Liberal head sentenced to jail THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CANADA AND AMERICA
The former head of the Quebec wing of the Liberal Party of Canada has been sentenced to 15 months in jail and ordered to pay a $20,000 fine as a result of his guilty plea for influence peddling and fraud.
Benoit Corbeil, 46, was sentenced yesterday after pleading guilty to the charges in June.
Corbeil admitted to having created $117,000 worth of false invoices between 1999 and 2000.
He also admitted to receiving a $50,000 kick back and using his position to help Real Ouimet, a businessman who wanted to purchase government-owned land in Montreal.

President Barack Obama was in Oslo, Norway today to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
The announcement of his award was made back in October and it was met with much controversy, which the President addressed in his acceptance speech:
"I receive this honor with deep gratitude and great humility. It is an award that speaks to our highest aspirations — that for all the cruelty and hardship of our world, we are not mere prisoners of fate. Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice.
"And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage."
